After School Activities & Care

We work together with after school care provider Kind & Co Ludens.

After school child care (in Dutch: BSO) is provided at our school campus by childcare organisation Kind & Co Ludens. Together with Kind & Co Ludens, we also offer a variety of after school activities, mostly geared towards primary students. These activities are open to all students, regardless whether they use the BSO or not. 


Kind & Co Ludens

Kind & Co Ludens offers:

  • After school care at our school campus for children aged 4-11. Parents can also use the BSO to arrange for (paid) care during staff study days.
  • Bilingual nursery Woudrijk at Papendorp, close to our school campus.
  • Nursery locations for children aged 0-4 yrs, dotted around Utrecht.

After School Activities

After School Activities (ASA's) at ISU are run over 2 terms from September until the end of February and from March until the end of June.  Please note that ASA's are both organised by ISU and by Kind & Co Ludens. Parents are invited to sign up their children via links in a school app message which is sent a few weeks before the start of activities.

ASA's organised by ISU

  • Home Language Clubs (Grades 1 - 5). At ISU we actively encourage reading and writing in all our children’s languages. Although we can’t offer all the home languages, we have a number of clubs including French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Italian, Portuguese and Tamil.
  • Music (Whole School). Within our private instrumental lesson programme, we offer a wide range of instruments which students may be interested in learning, as a beginner student, or continuing to improve their skills, at an intermediate or advanced level. Click on our music page to learn more.
  • The ISU Music Academy is designed to enrich students' musical skills and foster their artistic and creative growth beyond the classroom and the programme are conducted in group settings, fostering a dynamic and enriching learning environment. Within the programme, we offer 7 musical projects divided into different levels where students from kindergarten to Grade 12 can take part in. Click on our music page to learn more.
  • Other activities at ISU. Ballet (KG & Gr1) Chess (Gr1–5), Crochet (Gr3– 5), Drama (Gr2–5), Football (Gr1–5), Guruscool Abacus (Gr1–5), Photo Club (Gr3–5).

  • Activities offered vary from term to term and include for example arts & crafts.

  • Activities are open to all primary students from KG to Grade 5.
