Lourine Ikink-Karanja

Classroom Teacher KG Red

Lourine Ikink-Karanja has two nationalities: Dutch and Kenyan. Lourine was born and brought up in Kenya. She relocated to the Netherlands together with her family, five years ago. She is married and has three lovely children.

Lourine qualified as an Early Years Educator in 2003 and has been working as an Early Years teacher in several International schools in Mombasa Kenya, Dar es salaam Tanzania, and Cologne Germany. Upon enrolling her children in a Montessori Primary school, Lourine took interest in Montessori pedagogy and went back to school to study. She graduated and was awarded an International diploma in Montessori Pedagogy, Early Childhood Education.

Lourine chose to be an Early Years educator as she wants to be there at the start of a child’s life, to educate them not just numeracy and literacy but about the world around them, so that they can make positive, personalised decisions.

In her spare time, Lourine loves reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
