Jenna van der Vegte

Jenna van der Vegte was born and raised in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. She obtained a BA degree in history and Psychology as well as a PGCE (teaching diploma) from Rhodes University, specialising in high school history. Jenna decided to stay in the Netherlands after working as an au pair in Rotterdam in 2014.
After au pairing Jenna first worked at the British school in the Netherlands (located in the Hague) as a learning support assistant. Thereafter, she worked at the American International school in Rotterdam as a learning support assistant and a social studies/history teacher.
Jenna has a passion for working in education and has experience working with children and teenagers ranging from 3 – 16 years of age. This experience includes working with children from disadvantaged backgrounds, as she was dedicated to the Interact (Rotaract) club throughout her high school years, serving on the committee and thereafter serving as the President of the club, in which Jenna was elected by her peers. She believes her most valuable assets are being compassionate, empathic and adjusting swiftly to new environments. Jenna decided from a young age that she wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps and teach/assist children.
