Jelle Zoon was born and raised in Utrecht. After completing secondary school, he took a gap year to learn Spanish in Peru and Spain, and be a camp counselor in the United States. After his gap year, he moved to Amsterdam to study Dutch and Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam.
During his studies, Jelle spent a semester abroad at the University of Windsor in Canada, where he completed university courses on child psychology, argumentation theory and debating. He has previously worked as a Dutch teacher at a school for secondary vocational education (MBO), a grammar school, various language schools and the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest.
Jelle currently works as a Dutch teacher at the International School Utrecht three days a week. The rest of the week he works as a freelance Dutch teacher for adults in Amsterdam. In his free time, he likes to play field hockey and squash, read a book, travel, and go to the theatre.
