Dutch Language Acquisition students visit Albert Heijn

On Wednesday 21 February all Dutch Language Acquisition Phase 1 classes (grade 6-8) went shopping at Albert Heijn in the Nova Shopping Mall just around the corner from the International School Utrecht.

By Tommas Houterman, MYP Dutch Language Acquisition

The supermarket visit was part of the current unit of study; Eten en Drinken (Food and Drink). Our MYP students all found a traditional Dutch dish to cook. After having selected recipes, the young chefs were asked to write out a shopping list in both Dutch and English (or their mother- tongue if they preferred). All students are now creating a video in which they will list the ingredients and explain the steps of the recipe (in Dutch of course) as they cook their traditional Dutch meals.

Eet smakelijk allemaal!
