Our first cohort of MYP students finished the complete 5 years of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. During a special celebration the students received their MYP Certificate.
There were lovely speeches by students Julia, Arpurv and Annick who all started at the ISUtrecht five years ago. Julia told us about her first day at ISUtrecht when it was a tiny school with just a handful of MYP students in a combined grade 6/7 class. Apurv talked about the great friends he made and the lovely MYP trips to Berlin, Prague, Rome and Paris he has been part of. Anick reminded her fellow students about the bright future that lays ahead of all of them and urged them to pursue their dreams.
MYP programme leader Josie Galemmo urged the students to always stay true to themselves and to love and support their friends. Grade 1o mentor Mascha Keersmaekers reassured the students by saying they were all going to find their place in the world and could they please let her know in twenty years’ time where they ended up. Head of school Rynette de Villiers read the students a poem; the message being to always open doors.
